3 held for mobile handset theft worth Rs 5.5 lakhs
Kolhapur, July 9 (UNI) Three youths were arrested today in connection with robbery of mobile handsets worth Rs 5.5 lakh here.
The accused, identified as Mahesh Tukaram Chaugule (25), Tushar Madhukar Jainapure (26) and Iqbal Mulla (25) are all residents of Sangli district, police said.
Chaugule was working at a electronic shop, while Mulla was working as salesman of mobile handsets. The trio would steel the mobile handsets from various shops and sold them to customers assuring them receipt from the company, police said.
The local court later remanded them to police custody till July 11.
