21 killed in separate incidents in Jharkhand, MP
Ranchi/Guna, Jul 9 (UNI) At least 21 people were killed and several others injured in separate incidents in Jharkhand and Madhya Pradesh today.
In the first incident, at least 14 people were killed and several others injured when a mini-bus in which they were travelling collided with a truck on the Ranchi-Ramgarh road at Palu under Ormanjhi police station, about 25 km from Ranchi.
The bus plunged into a gorge, police said, adding so far 14 bodies were recovered from the wrangled vehicle.
In the other incident, , seven people, including a woman and a child, were killed, five of them on the spot, and 13 injured, two critically, in head-on jeep-dumper collision on the Agra-Mumbai National Highway near Guna's Bilauniya village in Madhya Pradesh.
''Two succumbed in hospital,'' said Superintendent of Police Yogesh Chaudhry.
Immediate assistance of Rs 5,000 for each of the dead, including the jeep's driver, was announced and Rs 2,000 for each of the injured. The victims were admitted to the District Hospital.
