Speaker anguished over ruling party's conduct
Bhopal, Jul 8 (UNI) Madhya Pradesh Vidhan Sabha Speaker Ishwardas Rohani today expressed displeasure over ruling party members raising slogans and attempting to reach the well of the House to take on opposition members.
The Speaker expressed his anguish and directed Parliamentary Affairs Minister Narottam Mishra to ensure that the ruling party members remained in their seats.
While the Congress and other opposition members were raising slogans in the well of the house demanding judicial inquiry into the recent riots in Indore and other places, the BJP members also raised counter slogans. Members from the rear rows came forward and attempted to enter the well of the house, when the Speaker urged them to return to their seats. ''Such conduct would not be tolerated,'' he pointed out.
Responding to the Speaker's directive, Mr Mishra also went to the treasury bench and persuaded the BJP members to return to their seats. The BJP members, however, continued raising slogans against the opposition members till the house was adjourned for the day around noon.
Incidently, the BJP members indulged in slogan shouting even while the ministers were presenting bills for passage. A total of 12 bills were passed without debate in less than half an hour today.
