Prez Pratibha Patil condemns terror attack on Indian mission
New Delhi, Jul 8 (UNI) President Pratibha Devisingh Patil today expressed deep sorrow over the killing of Indian Embassy officials in a terror attack in Kabul.
The President also condemned the dastardly act of the terrorists in which precious Indian and Afghan lives, including an Afghan working in the Embassy, were lost, the Rashtrapati Bhavan said in a press release.
Among those killed in the attack were Defence Attache Brigadier R D Mehta and Counsellor Venkateswara Rao of the Indian Foreign Service and Ajai Pathania and Roop Singh, both of the Indo-Tibetan Border Police. Wreaths were placed on their bodies today on behalf of the President.
Ms Patil conveyed her heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families and sent her wishes for the speedy recovery of those who were injured in the attack.
