No increase in preliminary stage fares: Biman Bose
Kolkata, Jul 8 (UNI) The Left Front government in West Bengal today categorically ruled out any increase in preliminary stage bus fare structures in the state.
Talking to newspersons here, LF chairman Biman Bose said, ''State Transport Minister Subhas Chakraborty has informed me that the bus owners were complaining that they were facing several problems following the government's recent fare structure.'' The bus owners also urged the government to reconsider the preliminary stage fares.
''There would be no increase in fares in the first stage.
However, we have asked the Transport Minister to look into how much relief can be provided to the common people before reviewing the second stage fares if necessary,'' he said.
