Monthly allowance for various decorations raised

Chandigarh, Jul 8 (UNI) The Chandigarh Administration has enhanced the monthly allowance for various decorations in defence forces.

The adminsitration raised the allowance for Paramvir Chakra to Rs 10,000, for Ashok Chakra to Rs 7,000, for Sarvotam Yudh Seva Medal to Rs 6,000 and for Mahavir Chakra and Kirti Chakra to Rs 5,000 each.

For Uttam Yudh Seva Medal, Vir Chakra and Shauriya Chakra, the allowance has been increased to Rs 4,000 each, for Yudh seva Medal to Rs 3,000 and for Sena/Nau Sena/Vayu Sena Medal to Rs 2,000.

The Administration has fixed lump sum one time cash grants to the future gallantry awardees.

For Paramvir Chakra, the lum sum grant has been fixed at Rs 5,00,000, for Ashok Chakra at Rs 2,00,000 and for Mahavir Chakra at Rs 4,00,000. For Kirti Chakra, Vir Chakra and Sauriya Chakra, the grant has been fixed at Rs 1,00,000, Rs 3,00,000 and Rs 50,000 respectively.
