Kabul blast victim Pathania cremated
Pathankot, Jul 8 (UNI) The mortal remains of ITBP jawan Ajay Singh Pathania, who was killed in the bomb blast at Kabul outside the Indian embassy yesterday, were consigned to the flames at his native village, Kanwan today with full civil and military honours.
Union Minister of state for industries Ashwani Kumar laid a wreath on the body of the jawan on behalf of the Union Government while Transport Minister Mohan Lal laid a wreath on behalf of the Punjab Government.
Pathankot SP and a number of other civil and police officers were also persent on the occasion. The pyre was lit by his nephew, as both the children of the 33-year old jawan are minors, with the daughter just two month old.
A large number of residents of the village and those of neighbouring villages attended the funeral. The body of the ITBP jawan was brought here from Delhi this afternoon.
