MP: Jamuna asks Chouhan to resign
Bhopal, Jul 8: Leader of the opposition in the Madhya Pradesh Assembly Jamuna Devi today demanded the resignation of Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan holding him responsible for the riots in Indore and elsewhere in the state after the July 3 Bharat Bandh on Amarnath land issue.
Immediately after the house assembled for the day, Ms Jamuna Devi drew the government attention towards communal tension prevailing in many parts of the state. She demanded a judicial inquiry into the riots in Indore and other places in the state claiming at least 7 lives and imposition of curfew in Indore.
The Congress leader said the judge should be appointed with the consent of the opposition.
Former Chief Minister Digvijay Singh also urged the Chief Minister to order a judicial inquiry into the riots.
