CW Games Fedn Prez briefed on '10 CW games preparations

New Delhi, Jul 8 (UNI) Union Minister for Youth and Sports M S Gill today briefed Commonwealth Games Federation President Michael Fennel on the preparations of the Delhi 2010 Commonwealth games.

At a meeting with Mr Fennel, who is here on a tour to discuss preparations of the games with the Indian Olympic Association, Dr Gill said upgrading of stadiums, hiring of moderns technology and equipment was under progress.

He also apprised Mr Fennel of broadcasting arrangement being made for the games.

Dr Gill said the Government had set up a monitoring mechanism at the highest level to review the preparations periodically. The next meeting of the monitoring committee would be held on July 15, he added.

He assured the Federation of all government support for hosting the games. Indian Olympic Association Chairman Suresh Kalmadi was also present on the occasion.
