Choice of CM is Sonia's discretion: Digvijay
Bhopal, Jul 8 (UNI) Congress General Secretary and former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Digvijay Singh today said the choice of Chief Minister was the sole discretion of party President Sonia Gandhi who would exercise it after the Congress won this state's Assembly polls.
Mr Singh said so made while addressing a party workers' gathering at the local Roshanpura crossing prior to an attempt to gherao the Assembly to protest recent communal violence in the state and demand ouster of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) regime.
He also suggested that party activists express their loyalty to the apex leadership in a bid to maintain unity and integrity.
''Instead of shouting slogans for local and state-level leaders, party workers should raise slogans in favour of Ms Sonia Gandhi and (General Secretary) Rahul Gandhi. This will help build cohesion,'' Mr Singh opined.
