Centre committed to rehabilitation of physically challenged:Meera
Patna, Jul 8 (UNI) Union Minister of Social Justice and Empowerment Meera Kumar today reiterated that the UPA Government was committed to the rehabilitation of physically-challenged people.
Inaugurating a seminar here, Ms Kumar said rehabilitation programmes being implemented by the government and social organisations in the country was unparallel in the world as this service was not free in any other countries as was being provided in India.
The rehabilitation programme for handicapped was not only the question of providing livelihood to them, but its was also a pious duty as human being, she said adding such programmes were being vigorously implemented in far-flung areas of the country.
