Amarinder ready to lead Punjab Congress
Chandigarh, Jul 8 (UNI) After changes in the Congress leadership of three states, former chief minister Capt Amarinder Singh is confident that the Party High Command may go in for a change in Punjab too.
''I am ready to take up any responsibility given to me by Party president Sonia Gandhi'', Capt Singh told reporters here today, while indicating that he was leaving for the national capital this evening.
''The Congress High Command knows the capabilities of each leader and how best to utilise these'', he added.
Capt Singh pointed to his five-year tenure as Punjab Congress head which saw the party coming to power in the state in 2002. He also referred to his tenure as Chief Minister which he claimed was very successful.
