Akalis convene meeting to discuss nuclear deal

Chandigarh, July 8 (UNI) The meeting of the core committee of the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) has been convened for July 15 to discuss the US nuclear deal, SAD secretary Daljit Singh Cheema stated here today.

The meeting will be presided over by SAD chief Sukhbir Singh Badal who is expected to return home on July 13 from a foreign trip.

The meeting will be held at Chandigarh.

Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal who has already stated that there was no question of supporting the UPA-government on the nuclear deal will also attend this meeting. SAD has eight members in the Lok Sabha and is a key ally of the NDA.
