TVS launches Apache RTR FI at Rs 64,999

New Delhi, Jul 7 (UNI) Strengthening its presence in the premium segment, TVS Motors Company Ltd today unveiled TVS Apache RTR FI motorcycle in the 160cc category priced at Rs 64,990 (ex-showroom Delhi).

''With this launch, the company has given the common man an opportunity to experience high end technology in the performance segment, giving the rider a combination of an exhilarating ride performace with minimised emissions,'' company Head (Marketing) H S Goindi said.

The bike, which runs about 50-55 km on a litre of petrol, is powered by a 159.7cc fuel injected engine. It develops maximum power of 15.9 Ps at 8,500 rpm and has a peak torque of 13.1 Nm at 6,500 rpm.

The Chennai-based company, which has 600 dealers and 2,500 service parts, aims to sell about 10,000-12,000 units of this bike in the next six months, Mr Goindi said.

The RTR FI is driven by a microprocessor consisting of an Electronic Control Unit (ECU) made up of sensors, a fuel pump and an injector.

''The ECU receives the data from sensors, processes it and delivers optimum fuel metering and ignition timing,'' he said.

The bike's top speed is 120 kmph, and can reach 60 kpmh in 4.8 seconds and 100 kmph in 17.7 seconds.
