Three dead, 7 injured in road mishap in Punjab

Ferozpur, Jul 7 (UNI) Three members of a family were killed and seven others were injured in a head-on collision between two cars near Misriwala village on the Ferozpur-Ludhiana highway today.

According to police sources the accident occured when one of the cars was overtaking another vehicle and it rammed into the car coming from the opposite direction.

The deceased included Manish (30), his mother Shimla Devi (54) and his five year old neice, Shivani, all residents of Ludhiana who were on their way to Ferozpur. The injured included Manish's sister, Sheena, brother Sanjiv and his son and daughter.

The other three injured were, Jagtar Singh, Baljit Singh and Surinder, all of whom were travelling in the other car and were going to Ludhiana. All the seven injured were refered to the CMC, Ludhiana as their condition was stated to be serious.
