Thailand holds tsunami warning drill

{image-Tsunami drill_07072008.jpg news.oneindia.in}Bangkok, Jul 7: A large number of local people and tourists took part in a mock tsunami warning and evacuation exercise held this morning in Thailand's southern coastal Andaman Sea provinces.

Deputy Prime Minister Suwit Khunkitti was present at the tsunami warning drill in the island resort of Phuket. More than 5,000 foreign tourists and local people were killed in the December 2004 Indian Ocean tsunami that struck Thailand's six southwestern coastal provinces.
