Police Inspector arrested while taking bribe

Bangalore, Jul 7(UNI) Karnataka Lokayukta sleuths today arrested a Police Inspector attached to CoD, Anti Dowry Cell, here while accepting bribe for showing official favour.

A Lokayukta press release here said, a dowry case had been registered against Imtiyaz and five others in Amruthapura police station at Tumkur.

To bail them out, Ramadurgaiah demanded a bribe of Rs One lakh and after bargaining had settled for Rs 30,000.

On receiving a complaint from S M Irfan, friend of Imtiyaz and five others, a trap was laid and Ramadurgaiah was caught red-handed, while accepting the bribe and arrested him.
