PM 'horrified' at terror attack on Indian Mission in Kabul
On Board Air India One, Jul 7 (UNI) Prime Minister Manmohan Singh expressed horror at the deaths of four personnel of the Indian Embassy in Kabul today and called for continuing to help Afghan people rebuild their lives.
Speaking to reporters on board the special aircraft on his way to Sapporo in Japan, where he is going to participate in the G-8 meeting of industrialised nations, the Prime Minister pledged to do all to help the bereaved families bear their loss and grief.
He said those responsible, directly or indirectly, for the attack and for making this possible were ''no better than the worst criminals.'' ''I am horrified to know of the deaths of our personnel in the dastardly terrorist attack on our embassy in Kabul. The loss of these precious Indian and Afghan lives in the service of their country must be condemned in the strongest possible terms,'' the Prime Minister said.
''We have lost Indians who were helping their Afghan brothers rebuild their lives and country. That endeavour must continue with renewed commitment...We will do all that we can to help them (the families) bear their loss and grief.
that is our pledge,'' Mr Singh said.
