Pipe burst leads to water cut in central and eastern suburbs

Mumbai, Jul 07 (UNI) A 48 inch water pipe at Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Road at Dadar in Central Mumbai burst early today, leading to water cuts in adjoining areas like Parel, Sion, Chembur, Ghatkopar, Kurla and Chunabhatti.

These areas will not receive water tomorrow as repair work of the pipeline has been undertaken by the corporation since this morning.

The pipe burst has brought out into focus the old pipelines that are more than a century old.
