Srinagar, Jul 7 (UNI) Jammu and Kashmir Governor N N Vohra started consultations with the leaders of different political parties this afternoon, following the resignation by Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad from the post.

Mr Vohra, who has accepted the resignation of Mr Azad has asked him to continue till alternative arrangements are made.

Official sources said the governor has summoned leaders of different political parties to Raj Bhavan for consultations.

They said before reaching a final decision, Mr Vohra will confirm from the political parties if they can form an alternative government in the state.

Sources said those who were summoned included the largest single party in the house, the National Conference, Peoples Democratic Party, the National Panthers Party, the Communist Party of India (M) and Peoples Democratic Front (PDF).
