CBI rubbishes media reports on 'Talwars absence from crime scene'

New Delhi, Jul 7 (UNI) The CBI today denied reports that contradict what it had been saying so far, Aarushi's parents -- Dr Rajesh Talwar and Dr Nupur Talwar -- were not at their home on the night when Aarushi and Hemraj were murdered.

Describing all such media reports as ''speculative and not true'', the CBI said there was no veracity in such stories which stated that both were absent from their home on the intervening night of May 15-16 when the double murder took place.

It also denied reports that more than a dozen rooms were booked in a hotel in Delhi where the couple had gone on the fateful night when their daughter Aarushi and servant Hemraj were murdered.

The central agency's reaction came after a section of the press carried a story claiming that more than a dozen room were booked in a south Delhi hotel by a group -- of which Talwars were members -- and on the night of May 15 both had been in that hotel and not at home, as was being claimed.
