Ashok Vihar maid killed while resisting rape: Police

New Delhi, Jul 7 (UNI) A maid who was found murdered in an Ashok Vihar house in North West Delhi on Saturday morning was killed while resisiting a rape attempt, the police said today after arresting the accused.

Police said 19-year-old Gimmy was sleeping in the verandah of the seconed floor house of Guptas when one Mani Kamat tried to rape her.

As she raised voice, Kamat strangled her to death.

Her body was found by the members of the household.

Investigators found Kamat, who lived in a neighbouring building, missing since Sunday morning.

He was later nabbed from Adarsh Nagar railway station. During interrogation, he admitted to the crime, police claimed.
