284 cases settled in Lok Adalat in Srinagar

Srinagar, Jul 7 (UNI) A Lok Adalat in the summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir today settled 284 cases of different nature, official sources said.

They said a lok adalat was held in the Sadder Court premises here for which six benches were constituted under the supervision of Chairman District Legal Services Authority Srinagar (Principal District and Sessions Judge.

In all, 850 cases were taken up out of which 284 cases were amicably decided on-the-spot.

A fine of Rs 1,06,850 was realized in various criminal compoundable cases and a compensation of Rs 13,78,000 was awarded in various MACT cases.
