Sidhu wants govt to withdraw fee hike in medical colleges
Patiala, Jul 6 (UNI) BJP MP Navjot Singh Sidhu today demanded that the fee hike in private medical colleges in Punjab be withdrawn immediately.
Talking to mediapersons here, he said the hike was unjustified as a majority of students in the medical students come from middle class families. The fee was hiked last year by the state government.
He, however, welcomed Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal's decision to form a committee to review the fee structure of private medical colleges. He demanded that the committee recommend the scrapping of the fee hike notification issued on August 3 last year.
He urged the chief secretary to submit the report at the earliest.
