PMK urge Centre to end fertiliser scarcity in Pondy
Puducherry, July 6 (UNI) PMK Parliamentary party leader M Ramadass today urged Union Fertiliser Minister Ramvilas Paswan to take immediate steps to put an end to fertilizer scarcity in Puducherry.
In a letter to Mr Paswan, Prof Ramadass pointed out that fertiliser manufacturing units were contributing only 15 to 20 per cent of fertiliser required per month to Puducherry, resulting in scarcity.
Moreover, the companies, considering Puducherry as a part of Tamil Nadu, were providing only a portion of the fertiliser allocated to Tamil Nadu.
He demanded that the Centre stop this practice and ensure supply of 2,000 MT of urea, 1,300 MT of TAP, 1,200 MT of 20:20 IFCO and 1,500 MT of IFCO Complex to Puducherry to save the crops here.
