One North Indian labourer among two killed at Kochi worksite
Kochi, Jul 6 (UNI) A North Indian labourer and a Malayali pipe fitter were killed in a mudslide at a construction site at Edachira under the Thrikkakara police station here this morning.
The names and other details of the two deceased were yet to be established. One more North Indian labourer was rescued by nearby people, police told UNI.
The mishap took place around 0930 hrs. when some drainage work was being carried out at the worksite of Olive Constructions.
Mud piled up to a height of nearly 15 ft. suddenly collapsed at the site.
While two of the labourers were killed in the mudslide, one was saved. A crane operator at the site was also unharmed as he was inside the crane, police said.
The bodies of the two deceased had been sent to the Ernakulam General Hospital for post-mortem, police added.
