Jammu bandh call extended for 48 hours
Jammu, Jul 6: Baba Amarnath Yatra Sangharsh Samiti supported by saffron brigade extended the call for Jammu bandh for two more days till July 8 here.
''The agitation will continue unless the government hands over the land back to Shri Amarnath Shrine Board,'' one of the senior members of Sangharsh Samiti told the sources asserting, ''the fight is not only over a piece of land but it is a matter of discrimination with the Jammu region.'' However, BJP state president Ashok Khajuria said they were supporting the call for Jammu bandh extended by Baba Amarnath Yatra Sangharsh Samiti.
''Azad-led government has to prove its majority tomorrow in a day session at Srinagar but BJP will decide its further course of action after tomorrow's result,'' Khajuria said.
The bandh call was given by the saffron parties against the Jammu and Kashmir government for revoking the order of transfer of land to Shri Amarnath Shrine Board.
Hundreds of protestors were arrested and many got injured as Jammu was burning for the last one-week against the cancellation of order and demanding back the land given to SASB.
