Factional clashes claim two more lives in Nagaland

Kohima, Jul 6 (UNI) The unabated inter-factional clashes between rival factions of the NSCN have claimed two more lives in Dimapur district when the NSCN-IM cadres reportedly attacked a camp of NSCN/GPRN in S Hetoi village under Niuland subdivision, official said here today.

They said cadres of the NSCN-IM attacked the camp of NSCN/GPRN yesterday and in the ensuing gun battle, which continued for about 15 minutes, one NSCN/GPRN cadre was killed. The ultras also killed a civilian.

S Hetoi village is situated about nine kms away from Khehoi village, where the Cease Fire Monitoring Group (CFMG) and the Cease Fire Supervisory Board (CFSB) authorised the NSCN/GPRN to establish their designated camp.

Meanwhile, heavy build-up was reported in both the camps and authorities were fearing another showdown. The state government and the district administration were keeping a strict vigil on the situation.
