Kohima, Jul 06 (UNI) The unabated inter-factional clashes between the rival factions of the NSCN claimed two more lives in Dimapur district when the NSCN-IM cadres reportedly attack a camp of NSCN/GPRN in S Hetoi village under Niuland subdivision.
Official sources said here today that the cadres of NSCN-IM attacked the camp of NSCN/GPRN yesterday and in the ensuing gun battle, which continued for about 15 minutes, one NSCN/GPRN cadre was killed.
The ultras also attacked a civilian house of the village and killed the owner of the house, when his five sons and two daughters were outside preparing for the Sumi festival 'Tuluni'.
S Hetoi village is situated about nine kms away from Khehoi village, where the Cease Fire Monitoring Group (CFMG) and the Cease Fire Supervisory Board (CFSB) has authorised the NSCN/GPRN to establish their designated camp in a meeting of the CFSB held at Chumukedima, near Dimapur on July 2.
On receiving information, police along with Indian Reserve Battalion and Assam Rifles, rushed to the spot, but by then the cadres of both the factions had left the place.
Meanwhile, heavy build-up was reported in both the camps and fearing another showdown, the state government and district administration is keeping strict vigil on the situation.
