Charas seized, smuggler held in Kashmir

Srinagar, Jul 6 (UNI) A smuggler was arrested with two kg of charas on the Srinagar-Jammu National Highway, official sources said today.

They said a police party, on a tip off, searched a vehicle on the highway at Awantipora in south Kashmir and made the seizure.

A smuggler was also taken into custody, they said, adding police and Excise Department have destroyed charas and other banned crops spread over thousands of kanals of land in south Kashmir districts of Pulwama and Anantnag during the past six months.
