Woman passenger commits suicide in train in kannur

Kannur, Jul 5: A woman passenger was suspected to have committed suicide by consuming acid in the Ernakulam-Kurla Nethravathi Express train early today.

Railway officials rushed the woman, Thressiya (62) of Kochi, to a hospital when the train reached here late last night. However, she died at the hospital at 0100 hrs.

Co-passengers of the general compartment informed the railway officials that the woman had consumed acid when the train left the Thalassery station. She fell unconscious immediately.

She reportedly told the doctors at the district hospital that she had consumed acid and was on the way to her relative's home at Mumbai.
