Lucknow, Jul 5 (UNI) Showering praise on party supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav for his understanding with the Congress, senior Samajwadi Party leader Ahmad Hassan today said it was a perfect decision at the right time.
Mr Hassan, the leader of Opposition in the Legislative Council, said ''With this decision, the SP has in a way created hurdles for the ruling Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) in the state and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), which are 'day-dreaming' to rule at the Centre.'' Chief Minister Mayawati was shedding crocodile tears for the Muslim community, the SP leader said, adding all her activities ''proved her anti-Muslim and pro-BJP''.
The warm welcome given to BJP prime ministerial candidate Lal Krishna Advani during his recent visit to the state and drop out of Muslim IAS officer Anees Ansari for Chief Secretary were the two perfect examples of Ms Mayawati's behaviour, he quipped.
Mr Hassan alleged infact, after coming to power, Ms Mayawati ''dumped'' all steps, which were taken for the welfare of Madrasas during the previous SP regime in the state.
The Chief Minister also cancelled the recruitment of constables and hike in scholarship for poor and Madrasa students, he added.
