Signature campaign for pro-active Indian stand on Tibet
New Delhi, Jul 5 (UNI) Tibetan exiles will launch a signature campaign this month, urging the Indian government to adopt a ''pro active'' approach towards the resolution of the Tibetan problem.
The Core Group of Tibetan Cause said here that it will launch a month-long signature campaign among the elected representatives, urging the Centre to adopt a pro-active stand on solving the Tibet issue through a ''meaningful'' dialogue between Beijing and the Dalai Lama. The campaign would start on July 21.
The Core Group also claimed that it would hold special prayers tomorrow across India for the success of the Tibetan movement on the birthday of the Dalai Lama.
On August 8, which marks the begining of the Beijing Olympics, Tibetans will observe black day to highlight the ''continued violation of human rights in China and Tibet.'' Demonstrations will be held on August 24 to mark the end of the Olympics.
