Section 144 imposed in Baramulla
Srinagar, Jul 5: Authorities in Jammu and Kashmir have imposed Section 144 in the entire Baramulla district of north Kashmir for two months with immediate effect.
An official spokesman said today that District Magistrate, Baramulla has ordered promulgation of Section 144 in the district with immediate effect.
The order will remain in force for 60 days.
However, the restriction will not apply to funeral, marriage and religious gatherings.
It said no person will use loud speaker or any other device for making speech or announcement except with the prior permission of the District Magistrate or Additional District Magistrate. Besides, no person other than a member of the Armed Forces, Police and Magistrate or public servant, duly authorised, will carry fire arms.
