Partial response to Satnami Samaj's 'bandh' call
Raipur, Jul 5 (UNI) The Satnami community's call for ''Chhattisgarh Mahabandh'' evoked partial response in the state today.
The 'bandh' was organised in support of their demand to hand over a dispute building at village Bodsara near Bilaspur to the community, as its Guru Balak Das had lived there.
The building is now owned by a Brahmin family.
The 'bandh', supported by the Congress and a few social organisations, was partial in Raipur, Dhamtari and Bilaspur.
It evoked poor response in Bastar, Kanker, Dantewada, Bijapur, Durg, Mahasamund, Rajnandgaon, Kabirdham, Raigarh and Sarguja districts, police said.
In the state capital, main markets remained closed. No untoward incident was reported during the 'bandh'.
