Lightning kills two in Basirhat

Basirhat, Jul 5: Two people were killed today in lightning strikes at different places under Swarupnagar police station near here in North 24 Parganas.

Police said a 32-year-old woman was killed on being struck by lightning while she was on her way to a nearby farm at Sanrapol.

In a separate incident, a 22-year-old man was killed in a lightning strike at Banglani Natunpara.

Both the victims were rushed to the Sanrapol Health Centre where the doctors declared them brought dead.
