Labourers protest corruption in NREGS

Hardoi, Jul 5 (UNI) An enraged mob of labourers staged a sit-in outside the Chief Development Officer's work place here against the increasing mass unemployment and corruption in the Centrally sponsored National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (NREGS).

The mob began the protest late yesterday under the leadership of Congress party's Hardoi district chief Ajay Singh.

The agitators also pressed for their demand of unemployment allowance.

Meanwhile, the district administration has assured to look into the grievances.
