JD(U) demands resignation of Manmohan Singh
Patna, Jul 5 (UNI) The Janata Dal (United) today demanded resignation of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh for his alleged failure in checking the price rise of essentials.
JD(U)'s state president Rajeev Ranjan Singh told reporters the price rise of essentials had reached an all time high and the people were left at the mercy of the God.
"If UPA government had taken appropriate measures in time, the situation would not have aggravated to this level and it was probably beyond of control of the present dispensation," he added.
''Prime Minister should resign and seek fresh mandate for the government by opting for mid-term poll'', the JD(U) leader said adding present dispensation had lost moral authority to continue in office even for one day.
Mr Singh said the Manmohan Singh government had failed to focus on the problem of farmers and devoted all its energy to address the issues of industrial sectors leading to food grain crisis in the country.
The JD(U) leader castigated the Centre for not maintaining the transparency in proposed Indo-US nuclear deal as the UPA government was still to clear the doubts on the issue.
