Dhananjay Singh joins BSP
Lucknow, July 5 (UNI) Mafia turned legislator Dhananjay Singh of Janata Dal (United) today joined the ruling Bahujan Samaj Party in Uttar Pradesh.
UP Vidhan Sabha Speaker Sukhdev Rajbhar announced that the lone JDU member in the assembly desired to join the BSP.
''As Mr Singh was lone member of his party, thus, under provisions of para four of the 10th schedule of the Constitution, he was inducted into the BSP,'' Mr Rajbhar said while, informing that the BSP had agreed to his proposal.
Mr Singh, a known mafia of eastern UP, was elected from Rari assembly constituency in Jaunpur.
After this induction the strenghth of ruling party in 403 strong state assembly has risen to 216.
