Debt-ridden farmer commits suicide in Mandya
Mandya, Jul 5: Unable to repay a loan, a 50-year-old farmer committed suicide by hanging self from a tree in K R Pet taluk in Mandya district of Karnataka today.
Police said Kempegowda, who owned four acres of land, had availed Rs two lakh loan from Cooperative Banks and a Private money lender.
It was alleged that Kempegowda took the extreme step, following pressure from the banks for repayment.
