Bonded labourers take refugee in NGO

Kancheepuram, Jul 5: About 40 persons working as bonded labourers in stone quarries, near here, today escaped from their owners and sought refugee in a NGO.

Police said the bonded labourers were later taken to the RDO Office where an inquiry was conducted.

Efforts were on to release other bonded labourers from their owners, they said.
