BJP terms the alliance between Congress and SP as unholy
Bangalore, Jul 5 (UNI) Terming the new political arrangement between the Congress and the Samajwadi Party as the 'greatest unholy alliance,' Bharatiya Janata Party leader Venkaiah Naidu today demanded a public explanation from both parties in this regard.
Speaking to newsmen here, Mr Naidu said both the party leaders were all along trading accusations against each other and the people of the country were bound to know the 'deal' between the two parties. It was unfortunate that the Prime Minister Manmohan Singh had succumbed to the pressure from the United States and ignored the interests of the country, he charged.
Replying to queries, he said Dr Singh had no other option but to seek a vote of confidence once the Communist parties announced their final decision to withdraw support to the United Progressive Alliance government. The confidence vote should cover various issues such as inflation in addition to the nuclear deal, he felt.
Asked whether the opposition would move a no confidence motion against the UPA government, he said it would be decided when the Parliament session was summoned.
