AIADMK leader urges speaker to issue summons to CS

Puducherry, July 5 (UNI) AIADMK Puducherry secretary and MLA A Anbazhagan today urged Speaker R Radhakrishnan to expedite the case relating to some objectionable remarks made by Chief Secretary (CS) against the council of ministers by issuing 'summons' to him.

Mr Anbazhagan, in a letter to the Speaker, pointed out that it was learnt that the Chief Secretary had obtained letters from the secretaries, who participated in the review meeting that he had not made any remarks instead of giving an explantion through the media.

This action of the Chief Secretary had created suspicion, he added.

The government officials were emboldened to criticise the peoples' representatives by using objectionable phrases as the Speaker had failed to initiate action on one of his complaints in 2006, when the elected local body representatives had described the legislature and legislators as 'Alibaba and 30 thieves,' the AIADMK leader regretted.
