Vice President releases Dr Karan Singh's book

New Delhi, July 4 (UNI) Vice President Mohammad Hamid Ansari today released a book authored by Dr Karan Singh ''I Believe: A Philosophy for the Global Society'' terming it as a ''book with a difference''.

Addressing the gathering, Mr Ansari said, ''here is a book with a difference. It is an expression of faith, of individual faith that is also a philosophy of life for anyone who may care to look at it.

I find the format fascinating. It is an expression of the author's creed.'' In the book, Dr Karan Singh describes the major issues that confront each one as individuals: our relationships with the self, community, country, planet and issues such as politics, economics and environment. The universality of these issues makes it relevant for all.

Talking to newspersons later, Dr Karan Singh described his philosophy as ''an integrated multidimensional quest for the Divine.'' Dr Pavan Verma, Director General Council for Cultural Research, provided an introduction to the book and the author ''as a vision of a man who is a scholar statesman par excellence.'' Dr Karan Singh is also looking forward to the launch of his fourth album 'Kuch Geet Kuch Ghazal'on July 22.
