Truckers call off their three-day-old strike

New Delhi, Jul 4 (UNI) The indefinite nationwide transporters' strike was today called off following an agreement with the government.

The agreement to this effect was reached between the representatives of the striking truckers and the government late last night after long deliberations.

The transporters were for the last three days protesting against the transport toll tax, service tax and cess on diesel and non-availability of normal diesel.

According to the truckers, the government had accepted most of their demands.
