TN Govt issues orders for paddy procurement

Chennai, July 4 (UNI) The Tamil Nadu Government today issued orders for procurement of paddy during the Kuruvai and Samba season (2007-08) and fixation of Minimum Support Price.

The government, considering the welfare and long-standing demand of the farmers, had announced Rs 1,050 per quintal for grade A paddy and Rs 1,000 per quintal for common variety paddy.

The Commissioner for Civil Supplies and Consumer Protection Department had been requested to issue necessary instructions for implementation of the order, it said.
