Rs 8.16 cr for Perambalur under NREGS scheme

Perambalur, Jul 4 (UNI) The Perambalur district has been allotted Rs 8.16 crore under the National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (NREGS), according to district Collector Anil Meshram.

In a statement here today, he said about 50 works have already been taken up in the district so far and as many as 20 panchayats have been identified as model panchayats for the implementation of the project.

About 67,206 persons had registered themselves for taking jobs under this scheme so far, he added.
