Mumbai train bomb blasts investigation at standstill: Somaiya
Mumbai, Jul 4 (UNI) Senior BJP leader and former MP Kirit Somaiya today alleged that even after 723 days, the investigation into the ghastly serial train bomb blasts of July 11, 2006 in Mumbai is at a standstill.
Talking to reporters here, Mr Somaiya and city BJP chief Gopal Shetty said 15 terrorists, who were declared absconding, are still at large and surprisingly, both the Maharashtra and Central governments have not pursued the issue with the Pakistan Government or at the international level with other countries and organizations.
BJP leaders, while condemning the vote bank politics practised by the Congress-led UPA Government at the Centre, alleged that the investigation into the matter was proceeding in a lacklustre manner.
They said the Union Home Ministry and External Affairs Ministry should take up the issue of terrorists with the Pakistan Government, while the state government should do the consistent follow up with the ministries.
''Things are not moving at all,'' they alleged.
