Customs department detains Reliance Aircrafts, returns later
Mumbai, July 4 (UNI) Two aircraft, a Falcon and Airbus A-321 belonging to the Reliance Commercial Developers Limited, a Reliance Industries Group (RIL) group Company were detained yesterday by the Customs Department and later released.
RIL Group President Paresh Chaudhary told UNI that customs department had sent notices to 25 to 30 Non-Scheduled Operators and the aircraft were detained for some time yesterday. They were however later handed over to the Company.
He said as a routine procedure the customs department sent notices to several Non-Scheduled Operators. He said, ''Reliance is fully complying with all procedures as notified by the concerned authorities.'' However, he denied media reports that the Customs officials have reportedly seized two aircraft for allegedly evasion of customs duty.
