AICC to finalise LS poll strategy next week
New Delhi, Jul 4 (UNI) A meeting of the AICC's Committee on Future Challenges today discussed the Congress state-specific strategies for the next Lok Sabha elections.
The meeting at the AICC headquarters was attended by senior leaders of the Party and AICC General Secretary Rahul Gandhi.
AICC General Secretary Veerappa Moily told mediapersons that the committee would meet again on July 11 and finalise its report on the state-specific electoral strategy for the General elections.
He said the report would then be submitted to Congress President Sonia Gandhi for further action.
Mr Moily said the committee had already submitted two reports to Ms Gandhi. While one dealt with the intra-party reforms, the other was on strategy to be adopted in five election-going states.
Asked if the finalisation of the poll strategy was in the context of anticipated early elections, he said, "this is the election year.
All politicial parties will have to discuss their strategies." He said the meeting did not discuss the Indo-US nuclear deal nor the offer of support by the Samajwadi Party to the government.
